Description

The hike over the Devils Causeway in the Flat Tops Wilderness from Stillwater Reservoir is about 7 miles to Causeway Lake. There in late July is one of the most tranquil and untrammeled areas deep in the Route National Forrest. Life is teaming as are the wild flowers with pollinators tending to their sweet nectars. One morning as the sun rose near the lake in a clump of Sneeze Weed Butterflies were flying everywhere. This one lit on a flower and didnÕt move for minutes.

A Nikon D300, DSLR Camera, with a 17-55mm Nikkor lens at a focal length of 38mm was made at 1/1250th second with a F-Stop of f/5.6 and an ISO 200 to capture this closeup of the butterfly on the flower.
